Conair Dog Nail Clipper, Large

Nail clippers that hurt
I'd been using small nail clippers on my 55 pound shepherd mix for the last year, and finally decided to upgrade to more appropriate larger dog nail clippers. These clippers were not an upgrade, they're just not good. The clippers I recieved don't look exactly the same as the pictures, maybe an older model? Regardless, the clippers crush the nails before it cuts them - so it hurts my dog to trim his nails with these. I don't know if it's just a poor design or if the blades are not sharp enough, but I never had him yelp out in pain from having his nails trimmed before, so these clippers were not good for him at all. Back to my small, sharp clippers that work without hurting him! All in all a poor quality product.
Can clip even the largest of nails!
I have a 150lb bullmastiff who hates to have his nails clipped. If it doesn't cut right through the first time, you can forget having a second chance with him. These clippers are sharp enough to cut through his nails easily. One issue is the white locking switch. I've found that it flips easily and will lock when you are in the middle of clipping. A minor irritation at best. Otherwise highly recommended.
Happy with purchase
These clippers seem to work well. My husband and I are now able to keep our two dogs' nails trimmed and save money at the groomers.
