This is made of a solid plastic and is very easy to wipe off and clean up if the dog makes a mess. It is shaped like a tray since the lip raises up about 1 inch the whole way around preventing water from spilling out if the bowl is knocked over.
Tray could have worked, but the size isn't right
Although the measurements of the tray are listed as 19.2x13 inches, there was no notation as to the inside measurement. Since the base of the tray measures only 15 3/4 x 9 3/4 (roughly), the new dishes I purchased don't fit in the tray and I can't use them both side by side. Inside dimensions should have been included in the item description.
Works Great
Bought this for a golden that likes to snorkel in his water bowl before drinking and it is working great ! The lip is about a quarter (coin) tall in height maybe a wee bit more, which is more than adequate to keep the water in place. I chose the clear color and that allows the floor color to show through and is not an eye sore. - No regrets, the mess factor is dramatically reduced. - Thank You for creating this product
