PetSafe Drinkwell Ceramic Avalon Fountain for Pets

Very quiet & well built
I have four cats. After talking to a vet about what I could do for the one with bladder problems, she suggested a ceramic fountain.
About a year ago, I bought the Drinkwell Lotus fountain. It worked fairly well until about a month ago when the plastic tube that the cord goes through broke. I couldn't find any replacement parts for it. After talking to the company, they suggested one of their newer fountains (the Avalon or the Pagoda). There is less plastic, a charcoal filter as well as a pre-filter for the pump. Also, both of them hold more water than the Lotus.
I've only had the fountain for a few days, but I'm very happy with it so far. It's quieter than the Lotus was. The water is cleaner because of the charcoal filter. As for difficulty putting it together, there was none. I read the instructions as I was doing it. It took about five minutes to put it together properly, fill it and have it running.
Since there are fewer parts than the Lotus, I expect it...
Review on Drinkwell Avalon Ceramic Fountain
I had been looking for a new fountain as my existing fountain had been increasingly tough to clean. It had many small parts with crevices, and even with the cleaning kit, those crevices where very hard to get clean. I cleaned this fountain twice a week, and changed the filter weekly, and by the time I got to the first cleaning of the week, the fountain had accumulated gunk in those crevices.

My new fountain will need to have made of ceramic (followed by platinum, as plastic was not working for my cats anymore). After extensive research, I settled on this model. I had this fountain assembled within about 7 minutes.

I just cleaned it for the first time, and it took me not even 10 minutes to disassemble, clean, then and reassemble. There are no small parts with crevices to hide any gunk, so this is incredibly simple to clean, thus saving on a lot of time. In fact, there are not many parts on this fountain at all, which adds to its simple assembly/dis-assembly...
Quiet filter !!
Nice looking pet fountain - bought about a month ago. The filter is very very quiet, I only hear the sound of water splashing (very relaxing). 2 points that prevented me from giving this a 5-star, there is no option for different filter settings and the set up. I set up without any problem - the instruction is pretty clear - to me. However, the filter was not working when I first plugged the power in, it took me a few minutes to realize that the air bubbles inside the filter was the culprit. I took the filter out of the center column and tipped it on its side to allow the air bubbles to escape and replaced by water, hey presto !!!. Based on how easy I assembled this, I don't expect issues with replacing the filter.
